Construction history of the Jersey Subdivision cont.
6/27/2006 Ground cover continues on Horseshoe Mountain.
6/24/2006 Construction continues on Horseshoe Mountain. The mine opening has been framed in blue and the scenery crew had to devise a creative way to hold the clump foliage in place while the glue dried. They ended up erecting a chicken wire mesh to hold the heavier foliage in place. The crew decided to use vinyl adhesive to glue the foliage and then spray it with a glue/water overspray. The ramp to the mine has been painted and ground cover applied. The crew is readying more of the mountain for ground cover.
6/17/2006 The construction crew finishes assembling and painting the coal flooder. The coal flooder is tested in position and landscaping begins on Horseshoe Mountain. A ramp has been built at the coal mine for vehicles and people. The crew still needs to enlarge the coal mine opening.
6/13/2006 More trees, foliage and shrubs appear.
6/11/2006 Trees grow overnight.
6/10/2006 Scenery work and train ballasting is in high gear now. The scenery crew hopes to be planting trees soon.
