1/15/2007 Landscaping begins on the main yard and construction has started on the engine servicing facility.
1/9/2007 Construction is almost complete on the engine servicing facility.
1/7/2007 Work continues on the engine servicing facility. Yard lights, sanding towers, buildings, parking lots are starting to be seen.
1/2/2007 It's a new year and the landscaping crew has been busy. Donner Pass is almost complete and they have been busily working in the yard. The sand holding pit is complete and the fueling and watering towers will be installed this week. Yard lights, buildings and unloading facilities for fuel and sand will be installed in the next week.
12/18/2006 The scenery crew took a couple of Dash 8s with a string of High Cubes and a GP40 with a couple of intermodal cars to check clearances and track work. Some scenery can start to be seen, along with the newly constructed retaining wall. Construction on the engine servicing facilities has started.
12/11/2006 Scenery construction is underway on Donner Pass. Pink foam can be seen. The new double plate girder bridge has been installed and the new retaining wall is being fitted. The track crew found a problem with the double=slip switch between the sanding facility and the diesel shed. It appears glue got into the switching mechanism and the track crew is replacing it.
11/26/2006 The remaining DS64s have arrived and have been installed. The secondary control panel is now complete except for programming routes. A pair of 8-40CWs can be seen testing the trackwork on the new section.
